iSEE EcoRep
The Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment is recruiting several EcoReps for 2026-27 to promote sustainability on campus and serve as a resource to connect students to different campus sustainability initiatives. Any rising sophomore, junior, or senior interested in sustainability outreach is encouraged to apply, no matter the major. The position offers an opportunity to build leadership skills and get involved in a variety of campus sustainability initiatives. EcoReps will be expected to work 4-5 hours per week throughout the school year. The position begins Aug. 15, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a training session and events during Welcome Week.
- Meet weekly with supervisors, submit a monthly activities plan, and submit a bi-weekly report on progress toward planned activities.
- Work at large-scale, student-facing events to share information through tabling or support sustainability features at the event (e.g., recycling, composting).
- Conduct outreach in their colleges and schedule presentations to 100-level classes to share information on campus sustainability in the fall semester.
- Organize and coordinate at least one trash pickup and Illini Lights Out event per semester.
- Promote sustainability in university residence halls.
- Work zero-waste tailgating events, zero-waste basketball games, and the annual Dump and Run event.
- Proactively publicize sustainability events and initiatives and advocate for the green certification within their departments, colleges, residence halls, chapters, RSOs, etc.
- Identify opportunities to improve sustainability and proactively work toward a sustainability change.

Application detailsiCAP Team Clerk
iCAP clerks play a key role in advancing goals in the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP) and contributing to campus sustainability efforts. Each clerk supports a team focused on a key iCAP theme, including energy, transportation, zero waste, land and water, education, engagement, and sustainable buildings. iCAP teams include staff members, faculty, and students who want to contribute to campus sustainability efforts in each topical area. The position begins Aug. 15, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Keep team files updated and organized on the Teams channel.
- Schedule meetings, set up Teams meetings, and send meeting reminders.
- Coordinate with the staff member serving as the iCAP team chair to develop monthly meeting agendas.
- Support the chair as needed to follow up on tasks and help facilitate meetings.
- Take meeting minutes and record meetings.
- Attend biweekly iCAP clerk meetings and report on team updates.
