Shanna Kyrouac

Strategic Content Specialist

Shanna Kyrouac began her career at the University of Illinois in 2026 as a Strategic Content Specialist, splitting her time between the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment and the Cancer Center at Illinois. She spent the prior decade as a Graphic Designer for a local hospital and an agriculture technology company. Shanna graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, with a specialization in Graphic Design. In 2016, she designed a book cover for a Taylor Swift book, published by Simon and Schuster. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family, caring for her plants and garden, creating, and traveling.

Tiffany Jolley

Director of Strategic Communications

Tiffany Jolley has served as Director of Strategic Communications at iSEE since 2025. She leads institute-wide communications strategy, including messaging, media relations, executive communications, and issues management, supporting iSEE’s research, education, and campus sustainability priorities. Tiffany brings more than a decade of experience translating complex research and policy topics into clear, coordinated communications for campus leadership, partners, and external audiences.

April Wendling

April Wendling joined iSEE as a Communications Intern in 2019, and was brought on to serve as a full-time Communications Specialist in 2021. She earned her B.S. in Earth, Society & Environment (ESE) and Geography & Geographic Information Science (GGIS) at the University of Illinois in 2019, and her M.S. in Journalism at Illinois in 2025. With a passion for making science and sustainability accessible to broad audiences, April’s work at iSEE often involves writing news releases that synthesize the institute’s latest research and events. She also maintains the iSEE website.

Julie Wurth joined the iSEE Communications team in 2020 after a long career as a journalist. She was both a columnist and higher education reporter at The News-Gazette for many years, primarily covering the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and previously worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. At iSEE, she helps publicize the institute’s groundbreaking research and sustainability programs by writing science features and news releases and coordinating iSEE’s monthly newsletters and social media. She received her B.S. in Journalism from the U. of I.
