Tiffany Jolley has served as Director of Strategic Communications at iSEE since 2025. She leads institute-wide communications strategy, including messaging, media relations, executive communications, and issues management, supporting iSEE’s research, education, and campus sustainability priorities. Tiffany brings more than a decade of experience translating complex research and policy topics into clear, coordinated communications for campus leadership, partners, and external audiences.

Dr. Rodríguez specializes in biological modeling, simulation, and analysis to ensure that complex food and agricultural systems operate efficiently and reliably, for the benefit of both society and the environment. Central to his approach lies a commitment to transdisciplinary (convergent) practice, acknowledging that grand challenge scale problems are inherently multi-faceted, providing novel research opportunities across various disciplines. Dr. Rodríguez mentors a diverse set of students representing disciplines across the campus in development of their technical skills as well as their ability to integrate human centered design, systems thinking, communication, project leadership, conflict resolution, and consensus building.

Elizabeth Murphy

Elizabeth Murphy has served as Managing Director of iSEE since 2022. She also serves as the Deputy Director of Research Strategy & Management for the Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproducts Innovation (CABBI). Elizabeth started her research administration career at the University of Illinois in 2018 following a 17-year career in hydrology at the U.S. Geological Survey. She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Jennifer Fraterrigo

Jennifer Fraterrigo is the iSEE Associate Director for Campus Sustainability and a Professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. An ecologist by training, she studies how environmental change and disturbance shape ecosystem functioning across landscapes. Jennifer joined the faculty in 2008 and assumed her role with iSEE in 2022. Through her work at iSEE, she connects research, education, and campus operations to help advance initiatives that support a more sustainable campus. She is passionate about developing data-driven solutions to sustainability challenges and engaging students, colleagues, and the broader community in building a more sustainable future.

Madhu Khanna

Dr. Madhu Khanna is the Alvin H. Baum Family Chair and Director of the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment (iSEE). She is also the ACES Distinguished Professor of Environmental Economics in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a University of Illinois Scholar, a Stanford Woods Institute of Environment Leopold Leadership Fellow, Fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, and member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Agricultural Economics and the International Consortium of Applied Bioeconomy Research.
